PREAMBULE

That God The almighty creates the earth and universe with all potentials wherein is merely provided for human beings. The fertility of land, variety of flora and fauna; covered substances beneath earth : gold, metal, mineral, coal etc and also the sun which bring lights by which other essential energies to life are produced are all to support to human beings existence. God meanwhile also equips human beings with ability of reasoning by which they could develop their life for better, strengthening their survival and securing the future of their next generation. Those everything are still small of the uncountable creations of God and evidence that God the merciful is.

Human beings must think of themselves if they still disbelieve in God and ignoring the superiority of God over human beings inferiority. Which then, of the bounties of your Lord you will deny ?

HISTORY AT GLANCE

The idea of establishing an NGO Union come at most meetings or discussions among activists of NGO, sels help organization (SHO), students group, and other self reliance organizations. Especially among East Java NGO activists topics usually appear are of program development, organization building, human resources, and lack of access to information. In meeting with some NGOs from East Java in Lembang West Java, NGO activists; social worker, students, human right, women, environmentalist, moslem scholar agreed to recommend NGO Union which would bring their interests into a wider networking institutions and policy maker as well as media for improving the organization capability. On October 28th 1997 WALSAMA was declared and untill now taking office in Surabaya.

VISION

Reaching a living order in whichall citizens have equality in developing their skills, self potential and exploring natural resources basing on the principles of justice, proportionality and inter generation survival.

MISSION

To build socialwelfareof the citizen by maximing quality of human resources and by using natural resources efficiently refering to principles of justice, harmony, and togetherness basing on the power of ethics and morality

GOALS

The Vision and mission are transformed into these goals :

  1. Promoting community self raliance

  2. Inseminating people cares on surrounding social problems, human right, citizen responsibility to country, mankind duties to God

  3. Assisting NGOs, SHOs, and other form of social organization in the community in building their role.

  4. Bridging communications among NGOs, SHOs, Pesantren, and other social organization and between governmental agencies and NGOs.
