●Urban Community development ●Rural and forestry development The slowly process of development in some citizen especially those living in some rural and urban area is partially because of minimum quality of human resources and that of minimum awareness of the importance of cooperative works, besides the factor of policy products which do not accommodate people self reliance. WALSAMA tries to organize people into small self organization / SHO, among marginal. Family in urban and rural and building their reliance developing skills for finally they could participate in the process of nation development.
●Street children ●Child labour ●Orphan ●Agend people ●Disables That there are still great number of people living in poverty is a big problem which need great scale and comprehensive programs. However carritatif based program which is wisely operated is still necessary to conduct to save people during critical situation. WALSAMA is applying a carritative – comprenhensive project aimed for target group, which are unreachable to some conventional project. There are two institutional product for carritative – comprehensive projects, which are being progressively developed Pondok Sadar and Pondok Taubat. The first institution the Pondok Sadar is a formula intervention for street children, child labour and youth while Pondok Taubat is for Homeless families. The two institution have been for near five years running on in Surabaya and lamongan East Java.
●HIV AIDS ●Environment ●Civic education ●Gender Estimation saying that Indonesia will soon come out as another Asian country with vast number of HIV / AIDS carrier following India and Thailand is abig problem. Indonesia more or less have same characters to the two countries: focussing the development on cities (urban). The cities then attract villager (rural community) mostly young and unskilled women to come into cities and making the competition in the work market harder. The sudden change from agrarians culture into industrial culture which is closely to entertainment, individualism is a factor of the raising anxiety of HIV AIDS spread. Program of HIV ADIS awareness is enclosed to all program of WALSAMA either for urban and rural communities. While program fir high risk takes street children, street prostitutes as the target groups.
Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) has been widely recognized by historian and social experts as institution making great deals in process of independence and the development of Indonesia. From these normative educational based institution, in the past came most of Indonesia founding fathers who take participation in formulating the structure of new born Indonesia. However the role of Pesantren during further development process gradually get faded when pesantren keep their paradigm focusing their activity in education and rituality. Education’s and rituals in fact in need to be widely transfomed into readable and direct effect activities. WALSAMA in raising participation advocates pesantren for gradually expend their program to social and economy activities. Programs aimed for strengthening pesantren are training and orientation of community development, programs development, sister institution, and communication network. Forest function as the world’s lung which supplies oxygen substance which is right now a neon substitutive for human beings. Securing forest and it’s trees is a consequence to take for keeping human existance on this planet. Meanwhile there are not in small number, people with sample view in seeing forest just from its precious timber. Other group of people have very comprehensive, normative and scientific point of views in doing so.
